Dreaming of Tofu Marinade

This is my basic dreamy marinade recipe for it! I've been in the studio for hours but I've managed a good hand washing and into the kitchen to put this marinade together. I use Tamari instead of soy sauce. Tonight, jasmine rice, stir fry vegetables will complete dinner...easy Monday for sure.
Tofu Marinade:
3 to 4 Tbs. soy sauce
2 medium cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp grated fresh ginger
1 Tbs Chinese sesame oil
1 Tbs. vinegar (rice or cider)
1 to 2 tsp honey or sugar
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Add 1/2 pound tofu, diced and precooked.(boil water 10min.)
Stir, cover and let sit at least an hour. Stir gently into rice and vegetables.
I'm getting ready for Spring by ordering some clothes.I can't help wondering if others in blogland order as much as I do online. I'm not good at the stores, trying on and I enjoy the anticipation of seeing the UPS truck deliver my choices.
My show at the salon is up and looks just fine and we had fun hanging the work yesterday afternoon. I keep a bag of supplies, hammer, screw driver, tape, tape measure, nails, hangers and business cards. We were in and done in less than an hour.

  1. This looks devine! My favorite Chinese buffet serves a similar tofu. I'll definitely give this a try. Yum.

  2. Sounds yummy, Mary Ann. I was looking for something similar last night and VOILA! here you are. Thank YOU.x

  3. oh no! not tofu!

    :-) enjoy.

  4. It sounds like a really lovely day. And yes, I order on line. I have very little patience to wade through stores and around running toddlers. And a little anticipation always gives good apetite! I love my UPS man.

  5. Sounds yummy! (the marinade, not the tofu)
I'm hoping that you'll be able to get some photos of the salon exhibition. It sounds as though it will be a big one.
I wish I could order clothes online, I hate to shop. I'm too hard to fit, so everything has to be tried on.

  6. I can not order online, I am a bit taller then average, I don't have hips really. Things have to be tried on...

  7. Willow, Tofu people say it's good for us too!

Natalie, Glad to be of help in menu planning!

sUN, It picks up the taste of the marinade but maybe you don't like the texture?

Babs, The salon was not as fancy or as large as I had imagined, the owner is a photographer and she was welcoming and gracious. They had enough walls to hold 15 of my pieces and they will probably get plenty of traffic.

Just you, You might be interested in Land's End catalog...they have tall sizes and I believe you can return something(free) by going to Sears with your package.

  8. This sounds a great way to use tofu, I must try it. Thanks for sharing and thanks for visiting my blog too.

  9. the marinade sauce sounds very yummy - I'm not a tofu fan, but this would work on many things!

  10. Great recipe Mary Ann, I must try it.
I was addicted to fried Tofu in sweet chilli sauce and heaps of fresh coriander for along will be nice to try something new.

  11. Ro Bruhn, Enjoy the marinade...not everyone seems to like tofu.

Jeane, Good idea...use it on chicken instead!

  12. I can't wait to try it...I'm a big fan of tofu and steamed vegetables but have not seen this recipe. Thank you for sharing.

  13. This one looks really delicious, I like tofu:-)
