Celebrating 100,000!!!

Wow, Yes, I checked and I have had 100,000 pageviews on this blog Yippee!!
Almost every day or night I check my blog, post on my blog, think about posting on my blog, read comments and post comments and the list goes on. This has been a rich experience for me and I feel I've touched and been touched by some pretty wonderful artists doing what I do most days ... making art!
Thank you for visiting this site ... it allows me to complete the creative process last step in putting the work out into the world ... being seen. Thank you for accepting these pieces with open, friendly arms! Onto to the next 100,000!

This small photo of fireworks was taken at an Oakland A's (baseball) night game several years ago and now it's doing double duty as my best blow out celebration here on Blue Sky Dreaming!

Beginning Wings

48"x48" Working title is' Wings of Mercy'. I'm beginning this piece on paper in yellows and making real and imagined markings as in butterfly wings...only not. I have stacks of cloth, paper and things to glue and paint. I'm finally feeling better...strong enough to start painting. I intend on doing three of these large ones so I've plenty of space to paint.

Catching up with all the New Year's words of 2010...I report my word as 'Resolute'. The word will serve me well as I have a big project planned for the first of Spring and I need this time to gather and get ready. I did a tarot reading and was happy with the Magician card concerning the project with the outcome card being the King of Swords....this should all be interesting.

Thank you to each one of you on this magical medium!!! I took ALL your advice, woolly socks, rest, tea, lemon, honey, books (Tassajara Cookbook) salt water gargle, and more rest. Pablo delivered fresh soup (Whole Foods)packaged as if by a Shaman wrapped and blessed each container. Your comments made me smile with tears....thank you.

Below is some writing concerning my study with friend Deena this winter.

This dark winter season holding dreams yet dreamed
Warmed by hopes of the promised gifts of Spring
Planting these beginning seeds in dark moonless evenings
Faith in gifts of ancient souls
Find the chant, no the humming lullaby heard not for the child but
Rather for the tired heart long traveled.
Ring the bells, turn the prayer wheels, this winter of finding and
Accepting my soul's rhythm has begun.

Re-Post of the Recent Past

Gold 9
Actually this piece consists of 9 small canvas pieces 4"x4". Each one begins with layers of fabric machine stitched together in a circle of sorts. The fabric choices are varied...old paint rags, satin and cotton to name a few. Most have the addition of stones, some wire and all share paint and gold leafing. My heart was about the many layers and shapes of the human and divine. The imperfect within the beauty of color and gold...all becoming startling divine by connection and support. I like them all together but I have hung them in different ways.
This is such a grand day for me!!! My first ever post. I have plenty to learn and plenty to add but for a first day out, I have such a big grin on my face. I have been thinking and talking about having my own blog for the longest time. I called Gail on my server's list of consultants and she spent an hour and half talking me through and explaining options. I see her as my angel (we share the same birth date) because this old brain is slow and she was so very patient. Well my dear friends, the adventure begins. I'm sure it will evolve in strange and mysterious ways very much like my art and very much like my life...thank you for joining me on this very first day!

This month marks my blogs one year anniversary and I re-posted my first blog to celebrate! I can't tell you how much I have learned this past year and in 12 months I have met some wonderful blogger friends from all over this planet. Exciting, fun conversations, tender revealing sharing posts...this has been a great experience in what has been a not so easy year for me. Blogging has given me such joy! To each and everyone who has stopped by...Thank you so much and please keep coming back!
