Anniversary......3!

We are no longer newlyweds as Thursday the 12th marked our third year anniversary. Pablo came home late from Reno so we just exchanged cards...Friday we went out to dinner and this afternoon a brunch at a window seat at the harbor watching the waves and sailboats here in Santa Cruz.

I posted two photos of us at our wedding...a small traditional service. The cloth wrapped between us is Pablo's prayer shawl (his since he was 12 years old) and in the ceremony we share the shawl as a united couple...one of the many beautiful rituals in our ceremony. We printed a program for the guests so they might follow and better understand the meaning behind each ritual.

This afternoon we began talking of goals both personal and as a couple. We are giving ourselves a day or so and will share some ideas about this next year. One of my wishes is a trip either to Palm Springs or Sedona in the Spring. I'm not a big traveler but I do love PS, so we shall see.

  2. You look really happy and in love. I love the ritual of the shawl. Is that a Jewish custom as I don't remember that from my cousin's wedding but the shawl looks so familiar. Ah...Santa Cruz! I need to visit there soon. I miss the ocean so much. We almost came that way for Turkey Day but my Mom decided to spend the day with us and I know she would not travel with us there. Or...maybe I can talk her into it. You never know.

  6. Wishing the two of you a Happy Anniversary and may this just be the beginning of many more to come.

If I may suggest as to the two destinations for the spring, I would go to the Sedona, as I have heard from everyone who went in spring, that the area is truly special and a place to photograph or paint. It is still a place I hope to see and experience myself.

    Have a great Sunday together,
    Egmont

  7. I remember the one photo from your wedding had been posted earlier, when I had just met you. I thought then and now what a beautiful and happy bride you were. There is something exquisite about marriage that occurs in in a later stage of life - we have been married 5 years. I know what a gift it is. So Happiest of Anniversaries to one of my favorite bloggers and her handsome husband! A toast to many, many more happy anniversaries for you two!
