My subject is about birds, not any birds but the ones that visit me on my deck. I don't claim to recognize different types of birds (seagulls are easy for me!) but mostly little brown and blue ones. I've been taken by them and their busy lives. Instead of painting...I find myself watching them and writing in my journal: I am neither an
intruder or a comrade I am a witness to life here in my red and green leafed trees.Have a great week!
I love this piece....luscious colors; the "crackle" is so interesting and the thread is such an unexpected surprise...all the elements just seem so right together..and what a sweet little bird!

ReplyDeleteMary Ann...love the grouping in your sidebar! This piece appeals to me especially because of the bird. I like to sit on the deck and watch the birds too. But, while working, I'm not able to do that but I have been noticing them on the wires above me. Saw a group of 3 crows today that intrigued me. Good stuff you are doing.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tribute to the birds Mary Ann. We are avid backyard birders too. Its funny to watch them interact between themselves and pretty much ignore us. When the bird song disappears for the winter I miss their songs greatly.

I love a number of the elements and especially the crackling.
In the morning when I have the kitchen door open so to watch the scrub jays that have made their home in my backyard. When they had young ones that started to come to the feeders, I was able to capture a few frames.
