Spa Show Ends Sunday!

Today I will move my car back seats down and layout the packing blankets for tomorrow. I will load 15 pieces of art with cardboard and towels between to protect frames. I've done this on and off for years and it's easy to get back into this quick efficient loading system. The show was up for two months. I sold "Evening Prayers" and "Silver Ladder" which can be viewed on my flicker badge in the sidebar. I also sold "Flying Fearless Freyja" a portrait of my muse and I will post it in my sidebar too. I was surprised at this sale and so pleased. Painting her gave me the gift of courage in starting new work and I hope whoever purchased this piece will find the joy in owning as I had in creating this image! I spend a good part of my life in my own thoughts and imagination that I am so pleased when these pieces go out into the world... like little birds taking flight! I'm a believer in the fifth creative step: "Take your work out into the world" but lately I have been more interested in setting up a website than hanging work on walls. I am retired and mostly out of the local mix...a website offers me a way to show and share while giving me more time to focus on new work...the focus on these last chapters of my life...so to speak! ha
The house is humming with an active washer and dryer. Pablo returned home from five days in Reno. He was in temperatures around 95 and drove into our driveway marking 59 degrees...quite a range! He came home loaded with gifts for me... Speedy Cut by Speedball...a high density rubber block good for easy carving for my printmaking and a bag of m&m's dark chocolate candy! ha I'm doing laundry, watching cooking shows on PBS and looking forward to a homecoming barbecue. Sunday evening another "Wallander" on Masterpiece Mystery on PBS...life is good!

  7. Wow! Life does sound good. :-) I am shocked and torn to hear about Fearless Flying Feida being sold. I had no idea she was on the market. She was way cool and I certainly saw you in her. Well, your attitude to let things go out into the world is a really good one. Wouldn't it be fun to see what Freida sees and days go by?

  10. Congratulations on those sales. That must feel wonderful. There are few better feelings than when someone connects with your art.

Best of luck for working on your website. Definitely hard work, but a necessity I think.

So glad to here there are others out there with the same addictions -- carvings blocks and M&Ms dark chocolate. I seem to go through several pounds each month of both.

  14. Karen, I was surprised she sold and truly pleased. She was my courage muse but her next task could lead anywhere...joy, silly...who knows!

Jeane, Oh, the transporting blues...rain would be an awful addition. You are way ahead of me on website...I'm planning on the end of this year, early next. Good luck to both of us.

  15. Pat, Thank you, she is one of my favorite muses.

Kim, Nice to have similar addictions! I am afraid all art supplies fall under personal addiction for me and then there are m&m peanuts!

Babs, Yes, towels and driving in the slow lane. I once had a large canvas wedged in the back with the trunk open with little red warning towels?!
