Stitching Hazard!

Actually I cut my finger on a plastic lid but it is my pointer finger of my right hand. If I were painting this would not be a problem but this stitching requires fine finger movements and these band-aids don't provide enough cushion ... ouch! I'll be taking a few days off to recover!
Enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend ... !!

  1. Yes, ouch! Have you tried using those rubber finger cot things when you hand stitch? The kind that we used to use in offices to sort through papers, also the kind they sell in sets to use when you machine stitch, to be able to more easily move the fabric with your fingers, so your fingers don't slip. The former are stronger, if you can find them. I can't stitch without them any more. Enjoy your holiday weekend!

  2. Connie, I remember those rubber fingers from paper sorting and now you say there are sets to use when machine stitching?! I've got to get out to the stores more. In this case I need the cushion as the pressure of using a needle seems to hit right on the cut ... it will heal in a few days but I will buy as you suggested for the next time! Thank you!

    1. Thank you Jeane, Percolating is a perfect word ... looking, thinking and all other things one does to prepare for a work day!
BBQ and potluck on Monday and Tues. back to work!

  4. Sorry to hear of your injury, Mary Ann. I'm forever messing up my fingers by trying to sew through book covers. Wishing you a quick recovery, and back to stitching!

    1. Sharmon, I can't imagine sewing through such thickness ... we artists are a tough group. I'm all mended and posting a new piece ... thank you!
