Two in Pink

Two very different pieces but plenty of pink! The first one "Silent Alcove" is from my Citadel series and the second one is titled "Morning Prayers". Both are mixed media on paper. This is my contribution to the Roy G Biv day ... PINK! I'm interested in seeing more pink here on blogland ... first stop will be Jennifer Coyne Qudeen

  2. Thank you ... in those days I was using an electric sander on the heavy paper ... being careful not to sand fabrics.

  5. Mary Ann, "Silent Alcove" is a gorgeous piece - it speaks to me of ancient time and serenity. That shade of pink is uniquely fantastic!

    1. Thank you Sharmon, I was going for a time of serenity using the photos and descriptions of "The Alhambra" in Spain as my inspiration. The gardens and water features alone create an oasis and so this series was brought into being. Pink is not an easy color for me but I grayed it down and added the yellow ochre squares which muted it even more. I have enjoyed re-posting this piece and I'm so glad you like it too.
