All Framed Up

Actually I framed these five pieces and put them up on my studio wall in preparation for a show in June. Last Sunday I hung these beauties of mine at a local Art supply store which has a gallery wall. The show will be up until June 29th. I am a big believer in the creative process and especially the 5th and final step ... put the work out in the world! Sometimes it happens through sales, or  publications like my catalog and notebook and then there is the occasional show. This is a ten piece series so when I finish the other half  I'll show them when there is available space. The titles are "Wilderness Lamp", "Portal in Citrine", "Ancient Circles:, "Hands of Heaven", and "Columbaria". I feel good about the opportunity and I miss them a little too!

    1. Jeane, Thank you! I think my work looks best under glass (plexi-glass) but I'm not a big fan about stopping the work to frame. Got it done and they look good!

    1. Connie Rose, I put them in frames I already have here in the studio but I replaced the backing and the plexiglass. I agree, thank you.

I'm back to step one and two which is first the vision, dream/wish and 2 is all about the gathering, materials and such.

    1. Thank you Carole ... it is my least favorite art related job ... the dreaded framing. I try to keep it simple and I try to do it way ahead of time so I don't stress. These five look good on the stores gallery wall and now they fly!

  6. None of the 5 steps are easy and I have gotten locked into each one many times ... like 1st step, the dream, vision ... oh boy always need to break loose from that one and get to the 'art making' rather than the 'art dreaming'!

    1. Penny, I'm going to stop by tomorrow and see if I'm low on business cards and if there were comments and such. Mostly I'm going because I will enjoy seeing them on the wall!

  8. These look fabulous framed! Make an excellent grouping, too. That fifth and final step is really the hardest. Good for you tackling it! Well worth the effort.

    1. Lynne, Thank you, I think they hold up well on the wall. Whatever step I'm in seems like the hardest. Right now I'm in the first ... vision/dream and the second ... gathering ... I'm stuck in both of them and would like to get to the third step ... mark making/good/bad but at least 'doing'.
