One of Three

The misshapen square measures approx. 6"x6", embroidery, glass beads on painted loose weaved fabric attached to 10"x10" purple cotton cloth.
Slow going in these days leading up to Winter Solstice. I have three squares I'm combining and this is just the first. The color is a bit off as the threads are a light gray and lavender and here it looks white. My plan is to combine these in a long rather narrow east to west shape. I've dreamed of fringe and added fabrics but not sure at all how it will play itself out. I have my latest archeology magazine, a few study books and I've a brand new notebook so I'm ready for anything that might show up! Also have a few gift cards and coupons for art supply and fabric store so at anytime I can make a run for more stuff! With that said I'm prepared( if the work takes a serious turn) ... with a foot and hand massage appointment ... I've got it covered!
Happy Holiday fun!

I'm making the massage appointment for the end of the week ... either to celebrate or recover!

    1. Thank you Penny, I'm enjoying the hand stitching ... where it leads ... I'm not sure!
I had the good fortune of receiving the foot and hand massage on my birthday a few years ago so I was more than happy to add it to my list this year!.
      Happy Holidays to you!

  3. i am so enraptured by what you are doing. do you know that japanese use of cloth scraps and repairs with older clothes. a sewing thing. cant think what it is called now. somehow these remind me of that. glad you have a lot of treats ahead and are well prepared. any excuse for a massage is a good one.

    1. Suki, Yes, I have seen these straight stitches on cloth attributed to a Japanese style of mending. My memories are of my grandmother as she mended everything ... even socks, a lost art.
I like the massage and I like all that goes with it, flickering candle, fragrance and music ... it is like being in another world!
