10"x10" assorted metallic paints and powders, acrylic, iridescent copper pigment stik, handcut stamp.

The last of the first three and I have learned so much about the properties of metallic paints. I like this one and look forward to begin little larger ones 12"x12". Found some interesting biblical archaeology writings and other booklets on writing secret codes. I may combine cold wax (ARTIT) with metallic powders and oils as another way to explore...it's a perfect time as I can move my studio outside for air circulation. Home and family are taking me over for the next couple of weeks so I'll be dreaming and journaling about these art making possibilities.

I've had new lino installed last week and this week the carpet cleaners arrive for the bedrooms. I'm  full of plans to choose new paint colors, new towels, rugs and make a little spa feeling right down the hall.
What is truly making me happy is that I'm opening the windows and enjoying the fresh cool summer breezes...if I'm very quiet and the wind is just right...I can hear the happy screams from the roller coaster riders...summer has definitely arrived!

  7. What's not to love in this gorgeous work! Is that corrugated cardboard I see in the substrate? The codes are very intriguing!
Summer sounds absolutely perfect there, open windows,,,,I'm trying to imagine.
It's 100 here today with a heat index of 110.
"Holed Up In The A.C." is my summer song.

    1. Babs, the corrugated look is from a rubber thingy pressed into the metallic.

  10. you've got something ancient coming through, i think. Like some of Jeane's work I want to tip it and see it in all directions, like an abstract quilting.

we have the house open and cool air coming through too, its so nice!

  12. Summer seems to either creep in or just hit overnight. Here in the foothills, we had temps over 100 a week ago and this week...different story with cool breezes, some clouds, and cool nights. I think that I must prefer the cool breezes and being able to leave the windows open all day. It seems as thought your series is really taking on a wonderful meaning. I love that there are always some parts of it that are hidden to the general public and that we don't have to share it "all" if we don't want to. Each person can discover at their own pace. Art is such a wonderful way to communicate our innermost thoughts and feelings! Wonderful!

  14. There is much mystery and warmth and comfort in this composition. I wonder if it reflects the good space you're in, warmth of the season and being taken over by home and family and the happy shouts of people on a distant ride. Sounds like you're in a lovely space, with exciting plans, and lots of lovely space to plan and dream in.
