Summer Studio Hours

I'll be showing up at the work table in the studio this Monday as always. I'm keeping my three day a week schedule so I won't lose touch with the new work.
These two are on paper, One measures 18"x18" and the other 16"x16". First attempt....acrylic paint, collage. It is mostly a base coat so where they go from here will be a surprise to me as I'm willing to find some new ways and methods for my imagery. I also ordered several books from Amazon so I have a summer reading list to begin soon.
The local farmers market has been bountiful....melons, tomatoes and wonderful fruits especially the peaches. I like kosher salt on my watermelon, tomatoes and peaches....Pablo says yuck!

  1. Yes, yes, and yes! Summer art time, summer produce (we picked 30 quarts of raspberries for the freezer) and summer reading. Plus nice weather. The living is good!

  10. Katelen, I try not to get too attached to the first layer as I need to have the courage to paint over things. Lovin' the produce!

Oh Robyn, I ordered the same book and few others! Whenever I get a hold of sale money I plow it into materials and books!!

Jeane, Thanks for the stop by and I'll be checking that sidebar of yours!

Lia, Haven't received two yet and haven't read one yet so I can't recommend but here are the three: "Painting Abstracts" "Art Revolution" and "Creative Paint Workshop for Mixed-Media Artists".

  12. That looks so interesting. I like the color very much. It is livable. Maybe just a reflection of our "organic" beginnings?

  14. Pat, I have had some time at the work table and the colors have had to change...right now it is a matter of "covering up"...tomorrow I will try again!

Zappha, I too struggle and find I paint entirely different then with oils...alas, I can't go back to oils so it's a matter of learning a new way!
